Namwenge delighted with performance against Western United

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  Annet Namwenge after Western game

Striker Annet Namwenge was in scintillating form as Ajax Queens outwitted Western United over the weekend.

The forward struck twice as Ajax Queens Football Club convincingly defeated Western United 4-0 at Kabwohe playground on Sunday.

This was the first time the energetic striker was scoring after going five games without scoring.

" I am happy that we finished the first round on a high note with a good performance. Everyone on the team was impressive," she said.

" It is even more exciting that I finally opened my scoring account this season after going a number of games," Namwenge added.

Namwenge attributes the improved performance to the coaching staff and unity in the team.

" The coaches kept believing in me even at moments when I was not delivering. They always pushed me to work harder. Credit also goes to my teammates because we play as a unit and the spirit of togetherness has kept us going," she noted.

Ajax Queens finished the first round in second place on  13 points  in Victoria group.

The second round is expected to get underway in February next year.
