The game between Ajax Queens and Kawempe Muslim has had a great build up in the recent days.
After the two clubs writing history holding the first ever pre match press conference in the Fufa Women Elite League on Friday, the encounter has gathered a lot of attention.
As Ajax Queens welcome Kawempe Muslim this Sunday at Buddo Secondary School, the target will be to get maximum points and go top of Victoria group.
At the moment, Kawempe leads the group on nine points in three games, only two points above second placed Ajax Queens.
Head coach Michael Natima is confident, the preparations the team has had will help him get maximum points.
" We are ready to face Kawempe Muslim. It is a big game for every team but means a lot to us in our quest to reach the playoffs so we are ready to go all out to make sure we get the result we want," he said.
" The team is in good shape, we have had enough preparations and the players are focused to make it count," Coach Natima added.
Defender Joan Nassali believes playing as a unit in the previous games has helped the team achieve thus far and she is confident if the same is applied against Kawempe Muslim, victory will be for Ajax Queens.
" As players, we have formed a great bonding both off on and off the pitch. Our morale is high, everyone is geared towards the game. I'm confident if we maintain the unity we have had in the last games, we shall beat Kawempe," she said.
The team has been boosted with the return of striker Carol Nakyanzi who has been on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The addition of Gertrude Likicho and Gloria Ayikol who have been away doing exams has also helped bolster the team.
This is Ajax Queens second game at home this season. The first game played against She Corporate ended in a goalless draw.
