New singing Phiona Nabumba had a colourful display on her debut as Ajax Queens edged Muteesa I Royal University 1-0 in the season opener on Saturday.
The central midfielder who joined Ajax Queens from Rines Women's Football Club believes she has slowly acclimatised to the new environment and ready to perform even better.
Ahead of the game against She Corporate this Saturday, the midfielder is confident the team will be up the task to collect maximum points.
" I feel happy that my début was good and we managed to win. However, this is just the start and calls for more focus from us as players," Nabumba noted before adding.
" We play She Corporate this weekend but I have been working harder together with the rest of the players to make sure we get a positive result in our first game at home," she added.
Ajax Queens began the 2017/18 with a 1-0 win against Muteesa with the lone goal from defender Bridget Nabisaalu.
